The difference between lawyers and conveyancers

Our team comprises of solicitors experienced in property law and conveyancing.

Licenced Conveyancers can only undertake property transfers. They facilitate the property transaction and are not experts in property law.

Solicitors (or lawyers - same thing) can undertake the same transactional work as a conveyancer in addition to providing advice on legal aspects of the property transaction and beyond.

If a legal dispute arises before, during or after your property sale or purchase an experienced solicitor is who you would turn to to help you resolve the dispute. A conveyancer would not be able to act for you in such a dispute.

Often a conveyancers fees will be marginally cheaper than those of a solicitor. This is because the conveyancer is facilitating a transaction, as opposed to the additional services provided by a solicitor. However, in recent times the gap between solicitors fees and conveyancers fees has reduced.
